| In an effort to reach consumers directly, Department 56 decided to enter the retail sector as a stand-alone operation in the mid to late 2000s. Several locations were opened in highly trafficked tourist locations such as the famous San Francisco Pier 39. Two unique accessories, a tailored version of a Christmas In The City accessory and unique cable car souvenir were sold exclusively at the Department 56 Flagship Store at Pier 39. | ||||||||||||||
